Description: The Hampton Grist Mill in Linville North Carolina was built in 1934. It is an Old Grist Mill Linville NC visitors will be glad that they found. It is one of the few remaining North Carolina Grist Mills where they would grind locally grown Western North Carolina white corn and wheat using the Grist Mill Gears of an original Hand Grist Mill and Water Grist Mill. In addition to wheat and white corn, they would use a Hand Grist Mill to grind rye and buckwheat into usable cooking products. The resulting product was 100% natural delivering the special taste found only in stone ground meal and flours. The Hampton Grist Mill is close to Spruce Pine NC and periodically holds demonstrations throughout the peak summer season.
